FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I integrate Orthanc with Vapi?

Use Vapi's post-call webhook to send transcripts to Orthanc's /api/sync endpoint. Before calls, use Vapi's function calling to fetch context from /api/context. Full guide in our docs.

What counts as a call?

Each API request to /api/sync or /api/context counts as one call. Syncing a transcript after a phone call = 1 call. Retrieving context before a phone call = 1 call. Both count equally toward your monthly limit.

Will it slow down my voice AI?

No. Memory retrieval completes in under 200ms — fast enough for real-time voice conversations. Sync is asynchronous and returns immediately. No impact on call quality.

How is caller data isolated?

Every caller (by phone number or ID) gets a completely isolated memory space. No data leaks between callers. We don't mix memories. Each userId is a separate silo.

Does it work with Retell AI and Bland AI?

Yes. Orthanc works with any platform that produces call transcripts — Vapi, Retell, Bland, Twilio, ElevenLabs, or custom stacks. Platform-agnostic by design.

Do you train on my data?

No. We never use your data to train models. We don't share it. Caller memories are stored encrypted and accessed only when you request them.

What happens if I exceed my plan?

Paid plans have overage billing at $0.002 per additional call. Free tier calls will be rate-limited until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade.

Can I use this for healthcare / HIPAA?

Orthanc uses per-caller data isolation and encrypted storage. We're working toward full HIPAA compliance. Contact us for enterprise healthcare requirements.
